MEET SOME OF THE TEAM
Daniel BarraganSoftware Engineer, Seattle
Dan is a software engineer on backend services with the Driver Engagement team. His group is figuring out the best ways to motivate drivers to hit the road when and where passengers most need them. Originally from Mexico, Dan is a member of UpLyft Unidos, Lyft’s Employee Resource Group which advocates for the success of Latinos, Hispanics, and Spanish-speakers at Lyft, in tech, and in our larger communities. Dan’s favorite office snack is chocolate-covered almonds and he has a knack for naming inanimate objects. His car’s named Jabir, while his apartment goes by Renata. (We hope Jabir and Renata are friends.)
Holden PenleySenior Manager of Insights and Analytics, Nashville
Holden helps monitor situations that may impact our drivers and riders, using analytics to make sure we’ve got the right support in place. (Winter storms? Tweets? Volcanoes? Holden’s on it.) Before Lyft, Holden worked in international shipping logistics. He once turned down an opportunity to be on Survivor and comes to work everyday with his goofy dog, Agent Piper.
Xi WangSenior Manager, Marketing Operations, San Francisco
Xi helps run our Marketing operations, including strategic planning and resource management, nationally and across local marketing teams. She started at Lyft in Local Marketing Strategy. Xi loves hearing drivers’ incredible stories on how driving with Lyft has enabled them to fund their education, support their families, and get to know their city and its people. Before Lyft, Xi was a management consultant and a bit of a nomad, moving every year for 12 years — living in six countries and visiting about 50. Her baby has her very own 52-page passport which Xi is excited to put to good use.
