COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

How we share the ride.

When you drive or ride with Lyft, you’re contributing to a community that puts people first. Where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness. Because we’re all in this together.

What if these guidelines aren’t for me?

We get it. Some of these guidelines aren’t for everyone. But behavior that violates them isn’t welcome when you’re using Lyft. Anyone who doesn’t take these guidelines — and Lyft’s Terms of Service — seriously may be permanently removed from the Lyft platform.

“My motto is very simple: doesn't cost you a penny to be nice and kind, but it will cost you everything if you're not. So, if I'm free and available and somebody needs my help, I'll be the first one to jump in, without a heartbeat.”

Mary, Lyft driver, Chicago

“We are all just unique individuals making our small mark. And if we can share moments of kindness and respect, we are heading in the right direction.”

Hayden, Lyft driver, Denver

“I'm telling you, this was the cleanest ride. The car was pristine, there was such smooth, quiet, relaxing music. He had on his mask, which made me feel more comfortable. The car had the partition. It was just seamless.”

Najah, Lyft rider, Brooklyn
