Adaptive Bikes available San Francisco

Riders with differing abilities are able to ride adaptive bikeshare bikes in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. In collaboration with BORP, Lyft, SFMTA, and the MTC, adaptive bikes will be available throughout the Summer and Fall at the following locations:

  • Golden Gate Park – JFK, west of Kezar Drive, San Francisco
    Sundays 10 AM - 4 PM (through November 2021)

Bikes are available on a first-come-first-serve basis and riders must be 18 years of age or older. Riders can make reservations in advance by sending an email to cycling@borp.org to request a bike. New riders who need to be fitted for an adaptive bike should arrive no later than 2:30pm. Last riders to go out at 3pm to be back by 4pm.

Trained staff from BORP, the region’s leading provider of accessible recreation and adaptive sports for people with mobility-related disabilities, will be on-hand to fit, train and assist riders on how to use the adaptive bikes. Adaptive equipment includes supportive pedals, seats and straps, and hand pedals for quad level SCI riders.

The program will have the five adaptive bikes available in San Francisco.

  • Side-by-side tandem bicycle
