Lyft Local Racial Justice Alliances

Communities of color across the nation face transportation barriers to accessing essential needs–like groceries, jobs, and housing. As part of Lyft’s ongoing commitment to racial justice, Lyft launched Racial Justice Alliances in select states, with plans to expand in the future. Our Racial Justice Alliances, composed of community leaders, distribute Racial Justice Alliance grants. Racial Justice Alliance grants are cash or ride credit grants. Ride credit grants help reduce transportation barriers for communities of color by providing free or reduced cost ride support. Cash grants help organizations address the impacts of systemic racism as they see fit – from programmatic to operational expenses.

The program is available to eligible organizations across Massachusetts, New York, and Washington State. Successful applicants will demonstrate how their organization is working to address the impacts of systemic racism and empower communities of color through expanding access to community and essential services. Additionally, we prioritize applicants who demonstrate that their staff and board reflect the communities they serve.
