Driver Safety Tips

  1. Confirm you have the right rider: At the pickup point, it’s best to confirm your passenger’s name before setting off. You can also see the rating that other drivers have given them in the app.

  2. Turn on your Amp: For smoother pickups, make sure your Amp is plugged in and active so passengers can easily identify you and the right person gets in your car.

  3. Your car your choice: If a rider makes you uncomfortable or toes the line (e.g. by trying to fit more passengers than seat belts), you can cancel the ride. Let our Support team know so we can follow up on the incident and provide additional help. It’s a good idea to save our Support number (+1 (707) 663-4025) in your phone so you recognize the number if we need to call you back.

  4. Focus on the road: Avoid texting family or friends while in-ride and ensure your phone is securely mounted and not resting in your lap.

  5. Don’t speed: Even if the passenger says they are running late, do your best to stay calm — in-app navigation is a great way to ensure you’re on the most efficient route.

  6. Share your location with friends and family. You can turn this on under Settings in your phone.

  7. Trust your instincts: If a rider uses disrespectful language or behaves inappropriately, you always have the right to end the ride early. If you need additional help, you can chat to our support team 24/7 from the help tab or call 911 directly from the app.

  8. Be prepared: If the unexpected happens, consider saving the road assistance number (844-400-1449) in the event that you get a flat tire, or have some other car issue.

  9. Rate your passenger: At the end of every trip you can rate your passenger. Rate a rider 3 stars or less and we’ll make sure you aren’t matched together again. Our Trust and Safety team relies on your feedback and may also look into low rated rides and remove passengers to help keep the community safe.
