The magic of Lyft has always been about human connection. Take Carmyn Taylor-Jones, a Pittsburgh grandmother who drives on Lyft, and her passenger Diamond. What started as a simple pickup turned into a friendship that lasted through 100 rides together. Diamond would schedule her rides for 9:30 AM, and Carmyn would be there, ready with conversation, laughter, and sometimes even homemade spaghetti. "I got to the point where I cared about her like she was a relative," Carmyn says.

How Favoriting a Driver Works
Had an amazing ride? Now you can mark that driver as a "favorite" so we can try to match you with them again. After any great ride, just tap to favorite that driver. Then, for your future scheduled rides, we'll prioritize connecting you with your favorites whenever possible.
This isn't just about convenience – it's about giving you more control over your ride experience. You can build relationships with drivers who get your vibe, whether that's keeping the car cool for your commute or knowing when you need quiet time before a big meeting.
Empowering Drivers, Enhancing Your Experience
Our goal with letting you favorite drivers is to find new ways to reward the driver community for providing an excellent ride.
When a driver is added to someone’s favorites list, they will be notified and unlock priority access to that rider’s future scheduled ride requests. These opportunities will be clearly marked for drivers as coming from someone who favorited them in the past. This is another step towards providing additional earnings opportunities and building lasting relationships with riders.
When drivers know they're appreciated, it creates a positive cycle. They're motivated to continue providing exceptional service, and you get consistently great rides with people you trust.
Committed to Getting You There Safely, Every Time
Our purpose is to serve and connect — and that starts with safety. Adding favorite drivers is one part of our ongoing commitment to make Lyft the safest way to get around, while giving you the tools you need to feel secure. We know that who you match with plays a big role in how you feel. That’s why alongside favoriting drivers, we’re also launching direct driver blocking —a first for rideshare — so you can prevent future matches with a driver you’d prefer to not ride with again.
And to make it easier to personalize your experience, we’re introducing the Lyft Safety Hub as a part of this release — a one-stop spot where you can set preferences for recently released features like Audio Recording, PIN Verification, and more. We’re working to bring Lyft’s Safety Hub and new features for drivers, as well, and will have more to share soon.
