Our independent subsidiary, Flexdrive, has roughly 15,000 highly-utilized vehicles that drive more than 550 million miles per year. These have already helped us deliver nearly 3 million miles of AV-relevant training data to autonomy partners, representing over 157,000 hours of real-world operation in different conditions. That data doesn’t include the billions of miles driven by drivers beyond Flexdrive on our platform each year.
Together, these datasets generate exactly the kind of high-stakes scenario data that makes autonomous systems smarter and safer. Because these are active rideshare vehicles reflecting real pickups and dropoffs, they capture far more diverse scenarios per vehicle than any dedicated collection fleet. And if our partners need additional data, we can deploy new camera, radar, and lidar data collection fleets to fit their unique needs.
Lyft Maps: built for the AV world
Lyft also brings mapping intelligence to partners from every market we operate in. Lyft Maps powers optimized pickup and dropoff spots for every address and venue, provides real-time road conditions covering traffic, closures, weather, and enforcement activity, and Lyft's proprietary street-level imagery program, FleetView, covers 95% of roads where Lyft operates — with two-week data freshness that outpaces other major mapping platforms.
In fact, FleetView captures millions of miles every single day across hundreds of markets, at a 6-7x cost advantage over the industry standard, making it one of the most scalable and cost-efficient street-level data sources available to AV developers anywhere.

Every Lyft ride generates telemetry, rider behavior, and marketplace signals that are aggregated and anonymized to help AV systems to perform reliably. We also receive on-the-road driver feedback every single day — actionable signals from hundreds of thousands of drivers in markets where Lyft operates.
The data doesn't maintain itself. Behind Lyft Maps is a dedicated team of hundreds of geospatial experts continuously curating data, annotating visual and non-visual inputs, and correcting issues in real time, keeping the maps reliable not just for today's riders, but for tomorrow's autonomous fleets. We're one of the top contributors to OpenStreetMap, with more than 2.5 million edits in 2025 alone.

The AV training data partners need: Partners can leverage our real-world ridehail miles to train and update their models, improving routes and driving behaviors of vehicles to make riders feel comfortable.
