Each year, drivers go the extra mile(s) for riders. They cross state lines to reunite families, they get travelers to their flights on time, and they offer a listening ear when times are tough.
Lyft is recognizing the hard work drivers put in this year with a new feature: Lyft’s Year in Motion. When top drivers* logged on to their Lyft accounts this week, they were greeted with a screen highlighting their stats for the year: total miles driven with passengers, total rides completed, tips earned, etc. They also saw how many compliments they received from riders and their most popular compliment (friendliness, conversation, car cleanliness, or “above and beyond”) overall. Drivers who completed a significant number of Women+ Connect, Lyft Silver, or Pet trips got a special shout-out — after all, these rides exemplify Lyft’s mission of serving communities. Drivers are able to share these accomplishments across messaging apps and social media, so they can get the celebration from friends and family they deserve. (As of this post, 50,000 drivers have already shared their stats.)

While it’s meaningful on an individual level, when aggregated, the data also paints a fascinating picture of the impact all the top drivers had on communities across the country this year. For example, top drivers traveled 3.3 billion miles — the same distance it takes to get from Earth to Pluto. And riders appreciated them for it: Top drivers collectively earned over $500 million in tips and received over 147 million compliments in 2025. Twenty thousand of those top drivers received over a thousand compliments each.
And some drivers’ stats were truly extraordinary. Here’s a peek at some of 2025’s most impressive driver accomplishments…

Our hats go off to these drivers — and all the drivers — who helped so many Lyft riders get to where they needed to go this year. Wishing you all a happy holiday season and a great 2026 to follow!
* “Top drivers” refers to active drivers with a rating of 4.9 stars or more who have been driving on the platform for at least a year, given at least 150 rides, and have not had recent safety incidents.
