Lyft Debuts Hertz Partnership and New Ride Options for Airport Travel

Jun 27, 2022

Summer is here and millions of people nationwide are prepping for the Fourth of July holiday. According to The Vacationer, more than 55% of American adults said they plan to travel for this year’s Fourth of July weekend — an 8% increase from last year’s Fourth of July.

To help riders navigate the summer rush, Lyft is upgrading the travel experience with new offerings. Today, Lyft is announcing a new partnership with Hertz to expand its rental car footprint nationwide. Lyft is also launching Priority Pickup and Shared rides at airports for easier and more affordable travel this summer.

Hitting the road for a road trip? Lyft Rentals and Hertz have you covered.

Renting a car for summer travel just got easier. Users can now book a Hertz rental car in select markets directly from the Lyft app and get special perks including:

  • A $10 Lyft credit after you return your rental

  • A free additional driver option added to your reservation at pickup

The partnership officially launches today with rental options starting in Austin, Charlotte, New Orleans, Kansas City and Nashville, and will roll out nationwide, so that whenever you need a rental, Lyft has you covered.

Gotta jet? Priority pickup is now available for airport rides.

Worried about TSA wait times or traffic leaving the airport? Riders can now choose Priority Pickup to save time with the shortest waits for rides to and from the airport this summer. Priority Pickup is now available at some of the busiest airports nationwide, including LAX, JFK, LAS, MIA, SFO, and others.

Our latest data shows that airport ride demand typically peaks between 2-4pm. Travelers looking to stay on track can schedule a ride to the airport in advance or receive scheduled reminders.

Lyft recently announced Shared rides returning to more cities, offering cost-conscious riders an affordable option to get around town. Our pro travel tip? Where available, opt for a Shared ride for the lowest price and maximum savings. Shared rides are now available at airports in the following locations: Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Jose, Denver, Las Vegas and Atlanta.
