To help make an unforgettable first impression, Lyft and Tinder have come together on a new Lyft feature that allows Tinder users to send their date a Lyft ride.
Starting today, users will be able to access Tinder’s new Explore hub and purchase a Lyft ride credit for their match. The seamlessly integrated feature encourages thoughtful gestures for those ready to get back out there and meet someone new.
Tinder users can go to the Explore hub to purchase and share a Lyft ride credit for their match. To send a ride credit, follow these steps:
Click the Lyft placement in the "Explore" tab within Tinder's app
Select "Create ride credit"
Enter the ride details to generate your unique ride credit and shareable link
Share the link with your date!
Once your match accepts the ride credit, it will be applied to their next eligible ride. Follow these quick steps to redeem your credit:
Make sure you have the Lyft app installed on your device
Click the link you received from your date
Click “Accept ride credit” and the credit will be added to your Lyft account
You’ll be able to find all credits in the “Payments” tab of the Lyft app under “Lyft Pass”
Users will be able to buy a ride credit for their match without having to exchange addresses or whereabouts. Ride credits will only be valid for drop-off within a half-mile of the set destination, and any ride credit that is unused or partially used will be refunded after they expire.
