Lyft has a longstanding focus on standing up for and giving back to the communities we serve, and our riders have expressed interest in doing so too. That’s why in 2017, we launched Round Up & Donate, a program that allows Lyft riders to round up the cost of their Lyft ride and donate the excess to an organization of their choice – all in the app. Since then, we’ve raised over $30 million from more than one million riders through Round Up & Donate – and we’re just getting started.

This Giving Tuesday, Lyft is giving riders even more options to donate to the causes they care about. On November 29, we’re expanding the number of Round Up & Donate partners, giving riders the opportunity to donate to organizations focused on causes ranging from racial justice to gender equality to climate activism and more.

Lyft’s Round Up & Donate partners now include:

  • American Cancer Society

  • American Civil Liberties Union

  • American Red Cross

  • Everytown for Gun Safety

  • Goodwill Industries International

  • Human Rights Campaign

  • NAACP

  • National Federation of the Blind

  • OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates

  • Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES)

  • Trust for Public Lands

  • UnidosUS

  • United Service Organizations

  • United Way Worldwide

  • YMCA

Participating in Round Up & Donate is easy, and anyone can take part. When requesting your next Lyft ride, tap the “donate” tab and select a partner organization of your choice. Then, we’ll round up the cost of your ride to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to your chosen organization.

In addition to Round Up & Donate, Lyft partners with many of these organizations as a part of Lyft Up, our initiative that provides free or discounted car, bike, and scooter rides to individuals in need. Through this initiative, we partner with leading nonprofits to provide access to rides for communities to get to job interviews or to the polls, obtain healthy food, connect with critical resources in the aftermath of disasters, and more. We’re working to make sure everyone has access to affordable, reliable transportation to get where they need to go — no matter their age, income, zip, or postal code.
