A few years ago, Len, a 90-year-old driver in the Bay Area, picked up a few girls en route to a Taylor Swift concert. He put her music on in the car. The ride soon became an all-out sing-along — and it was a blast. “Hey,” said Len to himself, “I’m going to encourage this!” So he put up signs in his car, saying: “Len’s Karaoke” and “Know the song? Well … sing along!” And did they ever. Years later, Len’s Karaoke club is still going strong. It’s not only fun, but it’s become the way that Len — whose family lives far away — stays connected with people. “I feel that Lyft is my social world. This gets me out. I meet people that make me feel so good. I could be having a bad day, but when I get in the car — boom. I’m as happy as can be.”
