The Lyft ride you love, now with an autonomous option

Autonomous rides are now available in Atlanta, making your city one of the first. During our pilot program, when you request a standard or Wait & Save ride around the Midtown area, you could be matched with an autonomous vehicle powered by our partner May Mobility.

How to take an autonomous ride

During the pilot program, request a standard or Wait & Save ride with a pickup and drop-off around Midtown Atlanta. If there's an autonomous vehicle available, you'll be matched at no extra cost. You can decide to accept or decline the ride.

Human support, when you need it

For your safety and comfort, all autonomous rides have a trained standby operator at the wheel to monitor and manually navigate the vehicle when needed. They’ll help with your luggage and answer any questions you have about this new technology.

Ride comfortably, every time

Each autonomous ride is professionally cleaned and comes with temperature controls, so you can feel comfortable. All vehicles are Toyota Siennas, giving you plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

Committed to getting you there safely, every time

Our goal is to be the safest way to get around, whether you're with a driver or in an autonomous vehicle. From the moment you open the Lyft app to the moment your ride ends, we’re focused on making your experience safe — with always on protective measures like real-time ride monitoring and safety tools like Location Sharing and Audio Recording.

Drivers are a key part of the Lyft community

As we begin integrating autonomous vehicles into our platform, we're committed to supporting drivers every step of the way. That’s why we launched the Lyft Driver Autonomous Forum — a new initiative that gives drivers a direct voice in shaping the future of rideshare technology.
