Last Updated: February 9, 2026

These Lyft Teen Terms and Conditions ("Lyft Teen Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Lyft, Inc., and any affiliates ("Lyft" or "we"), governing your use of the Lyft Teen feature ("Lyft Teen"), which is available through the Lyft application ("Lyft App") and provides access to Rideshare Services for users between the ages of 13 years old and 17 years old ("Teens" or "Teen"). These Lyft Teen Terms apply to both parents and guardians of Teens and to Teen users. Any terminology in these Lyft Teen Terms that is not defined herein will have the meanings set forth in the Lyft Terms of Service.

By creating a Lyft account for a Teen user ("Teen Account") and/or using Lyft Teen, you expressly acknowledge that you understand and agree to these Lyft Teen Terms and the Lyft Terms of Service, including its arbitration provisions. Additionally, by creating a Teen Account and/or using Lyft Teen, you expressly acknowledge that you understand and agree to the Lyft Privacy Policy. If you are the parent or guardian of a Teen, you must explain the terms of these Lyft Teen Terms, the Lyft Terms of Service, and the Lyft Privacy Policy to your Teen. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE LYFT TEEN TERMS, THE LYFT TERMS OF SERVICE, OR THE LYFT PRIVACY POLICY, THEN DO NOT CREATE A TEEN ACCOUNT AND DO NOT USE LYFT TEEN. UNAUTHORIZED USE OF RIDESHARE SERVICES BY INDIVIDUALS BELOW THE AGE OF 18 YEARS OLD IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

The following provisions apply to parents and guardians of Teens:

In order to create a Teen Account: (1) you must be the parent or guardian of your Teen and have the legal authority to act on your Teen's behalf, (2) you will consult with and/or obtain permission from another parent or guardian of your Teen if required, and (3) your identity must be verified through the Lyft rider verification process.

You affirm that your Teen is between the ages of 13 and 17. Under no circumstances may a minor under 13 years of age hold a Teen Account or any Lyft account, and unaccompanied minors under the age of 13 may not use Rideshare Services. If Lyft or a Driver has reason to believe that an unaccompanied minor using Rideshare Services through your Teen's Teen Account is under the age of 13, the Driver may cancel the ride, and Lyft may temporarily or permanently delete the unaccompanied minor's Teen Account and/or your Lyft account. Any person riding with your Teen in any rides requested through your Teen's Teen Account ("Guest Rider") must be at least 13 years of age, and, if the Guest Rider is under 18 years of age, they must have consent from their parent or guardian to ride with your Teen. You and your Teen are responsible for ensuring that the Guest Rider has obtained their parent's or guardian's consent. You must also ensure that no person other than your Teen uses your Teen's Teen Account.

Your Lyft account may be deleted, your Teen's Teen Account may be deleted, and/or any account for a minor under the age of 13 may be deleted if: (1) you create a Teen Account for any minor under the age of 13, (2) your Teen's Teen Account is used by any person other than your Teen, (3) any Guest Rider is under the age of 13, or (4) any Guest Rider between the ages of 13 and 17 rides with your Teen without their parent's or guardian's consent.

You affirm that your Teen has agreed to the processing of personal information as set forth in the Lyft Privacy Policy. You understand that there is no expectation of privacy between you and your Teen with regard to the information provided by you or your Teen to Lyft, which may include, but is not limited to, your Teen's phone number, email address, date of birth, device information, and location information. For more information on the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information, please review the Lyft Privacy Policy.

You agree that Lyft may communicate directly with your Teen after you initiate creation of your Teen's Teen Account. These communications may be via phone calls, text messages, emails, and push notifications. These communications may include, but are not limited to, operational information (e.g., ride status updates), coupons and incentives, information about Lyft products and services, and support issues. These communications may also include requests for information related to any incident that occurs during your Teen's ride and/or law enforcement investigations. Additionally, we may disclose your Teen's information and their ride information to law enforcement or government agencies investigating certain legal or safety concerns, including reports of child abuse or neglect, and we may not always be obligated to report such disclosures to you or to your Teen.

You understand that you are responsible for payment of all of your Teen's ride fares, including gratuities, as well as any additional charges or fees arising from or related to your Teen's rides. You acknowledge that your removal of a payment method in the Lyft App for your Teen's ride will result in your Teen being unable to use Rideshare Services.

Lyft Teen may not be available in all markets, and market availability is subject to change. Lyft may impose geographic restrictions for rides within or between certain markets.

Your Teen's Teen Account will be managed through your Lyft family profile within the Lyft App ("Lyft Family Profile"). If you disable or delete your Lyft Family Profile, or if you delete your Lyft account, your Teen's Teen Account will be deleted. Additionally, if you remove your Teen's Teen Account from your Lyft Family Profile, your Teen's Teen Account will also be deleted.

Your Teen may make audio recordings through the Lyft App during rides, and by permitting the use of a Teen Account and allowing the Lyft App to access the microphone of your Teen's mobile device, you consent to in-app audio recording during your Teen's rides through your Teen's device. Your Teen has the ability to share such audio recordings with Lyft. Additionally, you understand and consent to recording by Drivers if they so choose (using their phone, dashcams, or other recording methods) during your Teen's rides, and Drivers have the ability to share such recordings with Lyft. Your Teen will be notified through the Lyft App that a Driver may have audio recording enabled in the Lyft App, and your Teen may cancel the ride if they do not consent to this recording.

Your Teen's use of Rideshare Services must always be done in compliance with and acknowledgment of all applicable safety instructions and warnings in these Lyft Teen Terms, the Lyft Terms of Service, the Lyft Platform, and/or any safety instructions and warnings from a Driver. This includes, but is not limited to, requirements that your Teen and your Teen's Guest Riders between the ages of 13 and 17 always sit in the back seat of vehicles during rides and that your Teen and your Teen's Guest Riders always wear a seatbelt during rides. For the avoidance of doubt, the number of Guest Riders between the ages of 13 and 17 that your Teen rides with in a vehicle is limited to the number of additional back seats with seatbelts in a vehicle. You understand that any violation of Lyft policies by your Teen or your Teen's Guest Riders may result in the deletion of your Lyft account as well as your Teen's Teen Account.

You accept all responsibility and liability for your Teen's conduct and any Guest Rider's conduct while using Rideshare Services. This includes, but is not limited to, any damage to a vehicle caused by your Teen or a Guest Rider and any actions by your Teen or a Guest Rider that put their or their Driver's safety at risk. You understand that any violation of Lyft policies by your Teen or Guest Riders may result in the deletion of your Teen's Teen Account as well as your Lyft account. You acknowledge that your Teen's conduct must always be in accordance with the Community Guidelines .
