This Veterans Day, we're proud to announce two new partnerships that deepen our commitment to veterans and our purpose to serve and connect. The Call of Duty Endowment and Hire Heroes USA are now part of Lyft's Round Up & Donate program, joining our network of nonprofit partners working to remove barriers to opportunity. We are also providing $50,000 to Hire Heroes USA to provide veterans with rides to interviews, training, and to work.

"This Veterans Day, we recognize the immense contributions of our veterans," said Jerry Golden, Lyft's Chief Policy Officer. "Those who've served our nation deserve every chance to build successful civilian careers, and we're honored to be part of their journey. Our partnerships with Hire Heroes USA and the Call of Duty Endowment are crucial in helping them attend interviews, training, and secure meaningful employment.”

New Partners Supporting Veterans' Careers

Through Round Up & Donate, Lyft's program that allows riders to round up their fare to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to nonprofit organizations, riders can support causes they care about, one trip at a time. In addition to the partnership we’ve had with United Service Organization since 2017, we are proud to add two new partners focused on supporting veterans and military spouses:

  • The Call of Duty Endowment helps veterans find high-quality careers by funding best-in-class organizations that prepare veterans for the job market and place them in meaningful employment. Since 2009, the Endowment has placed more than 165,000 veterans into high-quality jobs in the U.S. and U.K.

  • Hire Heroes USA empowers U.S. military members, veterans, and spouses to succeed in civilian careers through personalized career coaching, job sourcing, and mentorship

“At Hire Heroes USA, we believe every veteran and military spouse deserves a fair shot at meaningful employment—but too often, something as simple as transportation can stand in the way,” said Ross Dickman, CEO of Hire Heroes USA. “Thanks to Lyft’s $50,000 investment, our clients can now access free rides to interviews, training, and new job opportunities. And through the Round Up & Donate program, Lyft riders can support our broader mission with every trip they take. We're proud to partner with Lyft in breaking down barriers and creating real opportunities for the military community.”

“The Call of Duty Endowment is proud to partner with Lyft this Veterans Day to help veterans transition into high-quality civilian careers,” said Helene Imperiale, Senior Director, Corporate Social Responsibility & Call of Duty Endowment. “Transportation can be a real barrier to employment, and this partnership helps remove that challenge while inviting the community to support veterans through Lyft’s Round Up & Donate program.”

The Round Up and Donate program is part of Lyft Up, Lyft’s initiative to ensure transportation is never a barrier. Together with the rider community, we've reached over $42 million raised for nonprofits across the United States and Canada since 2017 through Lyft’s Round Up and Donate program. In 2024 alone, Lyft Up provided access to millions of highly discounted or donated rideshare, bikeshare, and scooter rides to people in need.

Removing Transportation Barriers for Job Seekers

Lyft Up also includes our Jobs Access program which provides free and discounted rides to help people get to job interviews, job training programs, and the first weeks of employment.

Building on Our Commitment to Veterans

Lyft has long supported veterans. Since 2020, Lyft Healthcare has provided veterans with access to hundreds of thousands of rides through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs transportation access program, ensuring veterans can get to critical medical appointments. In 2024, we partnered with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) and National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) to help veterans get to the polls.
