You can support Covenant House Vancouver and help youth experiencing homelessness

Today, Lyft is announcing its local Round Up & Donate partnership with Covenant House Vancouver, which provides support to homeless, at-risk youth. Our unique Round Up & Donate feature allows riders to round up their payment to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to a worthy cause of their choosing. Round Up & Donate adds just a few dollars a month for each rider on average but makes a big difference. The Lyft community has donated more than $24 million CAD through over 33 million rides, including over $100,000 CAD to SickKids Foundation in Toronto.

“Support from Lyft will give youth a safe, reliable transportation option,” says Jennifer Hall, Associate Manager from Covenant House Vancouver. “Many youth need to travel to different parts of the city to get to appointments, look for housing, and access education and employment opportunities.”

Covenant House helps young people aged 16 to 24 who have fled physical, emotional and sexual abuse; those who have been forced from their homes; and those who have aged out of foster care. A portion of the raised funds will support their transportation needs, ensuring that youth have access to life-changing services.

To kick off our partnership, we’ll donate $5 per ride for the first 10,000 Lyft rides taken in Vancouver.
