Lyft is accepting driver applications starting today in Montréal, Québec City and other major cities across the province, offering a new, transparent way to earn
At Lyft, we believe drivers deserve options that help them make the most of their time on the road. Starting today, Lyft is expanding its existing presence in Québec to include rideshare — welcoming applications for new drivers in Montréal, Québec City, Gatineau, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, and Saguenay to join the Lyft community and begin earning on their own terms.
As a special launch offer, new drivers in Québec can earn a $250 bonus when they give 25 rides within 30 days of their first ride! See terms here.
We’ve made it our mission to launch transparent features so drivers know what they can earn before they hit the “accept” button.
You’ll see the earnings and details for each ride upfront to help you evaluate if you want to accept it. The fare is based on characteristics of the ride, such as estimated time and distance to complete the ride and distance to the pickup. The fare also depends on what’s going on in your area, such as the number of ride requests in the area, how many drivers are on the road, and how busy it is at the destination.
We’ve made it easier for drivers to decide whether to accept a ride request by showing them an estimated $/hour rate for the ride on the accept screen to help them make their decision.
Lyft has a proud history of serving Québec as the longtime hardware and software supplier for the Bixi network and RTC (Réseau de transport de la Capitale). The company has offices in both Longueuil and Montréal, the latter of which is the largest office location for Lyft Urban Solutions, Lyft's bikeshare division. We’ve worked with our boots-on-the-ground teams in Québec to make sure the app is designed specifically for the needs of Québécois drivers.
Getting started is as simple as downloading the Lyft Driver app, which is available for both iOS and Android users. From there, you’ll be able to upload documents such as your driver license and proof of vehicle inspection, as well as keep track of your application status. Applicants can also visit our website to start the process or learn more:
We’re committed to our driver community for the long term and are focused on helping you understand your potential earnings opportunities before you get behind the wheel. By driving with Lyft, you’ll be helping to connect people with the places and experiences they love.
Don’t forget to take advantage of our special launch offer and earn a $250 bonus when you give 25 rides within 30 days of your first ride. See terms here.
As for riders, stay tuned for more details on when you can book a ride in Québec!
