Skipping a Euro summer? Here’s where to plan a trip instead.

Scrolling through your social media feeds, you may feel like everyone you know is jetting off to the French Riviera or the Amalfi Coast this summer. But there are plenty of fabulous getaways just a drive away from New York. Lyft data tells us which are the most popular before Labor Day. Read on — one of these six spots is sure to cure your FOMO.

The top destination of the summer for Lyft riders is the Jersey Shore. Data shows that rides increase to the New Jersey towns of North Wildwood (5x), Wildwood (4x), Manasquan (4x), Belmar (3x), and Margate City (3x) in the summer. The draw of some of those shore towns? Duh, the beaches. Rides to nature destinations jump 11x in North Wildwood, 10x in Manasquan, and 6x in Belmar.

If fine dining is more your thing, Montauk could be calling: Rides to the easternmost tip of Long Island rise 12x in the summer months, and rides to popular restaurants leap 9x. No other Long Island destination cracks the top summer locations in the Lyft data.

If you’re up for a longer ride, Newport, Rhode Island (2.4x) — home of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, many Gilded Age mansions, and tons of delicious restaurants — offers a quaint change of scenery. And if you’re willing to pay the ferry fare, Nantucket is also a draw: Rides go up 3x in the summer on the island.

Not beholden to the coast? If you’re drawn to horse racing, state parks, or culture, Saratoga Springs, where rides climb 3x over the summer, may be your perfect getaway.

And for travelers seeking more adventure, one destination on the border of Connecticut and Massachusetts tops the others: Agawam, Massachusetts, better known as the home of Six Flags New England. But it’s not just the roller coasters accounting for the 1.8x increase in rides there. Agawam also boasts Robinson State Park, and rides to nature jump 10x in the summer.

Pick your ideal summer vibe, book your Lyft ride, and get on the road!
