A Lyft Rider’s Cat is Missing, Help Us Find Tux

Oct 1, 2023

UPDATE: Tux has been found and has been reunited with the Lyft rider. More here.

Recently, a Lyft rider reached out to Lyft support after being separated from their cat Tux after a Lyft ride. Tux is a short-hair, black-and-white tuxedo cat and was last seen on Saturday, September 30th, at 3:30pm PT near Banfield Pet Hospital (11150 Research BLVD. Ste. 100A Austin, Texas, 78759). She is wearing a red-heart shaped pendant on her neck. We want to help Tux get home to her owner. We are looking for help from the Lyft rider and driver community to help find Tux. Here’s what you can do:

  • Post fliers locally. The local Lyft Austin team is helping the rider by circulating fliers near where Tux was last seen. If you live in the Austin area, please consider printing the flier and posting yourself.

  • Share fliers on social media. Lyft has also posted the flier on X to spread the word. Please share this with your networks.

  • Check your Lyft app. When riders and drivers in Austin open their Lyft app, they'll get a message from Lyft asking for any tips about the whereabouts of Tux by emailing findtux@lyft.com. Please encourage your friends in the Austin area to share this information widely

We talked to KVUE Sunday evening to get the word out and encourage viewers to share any information they might have with findtux@lyft.com. We’ll keep everyone updated about the progress of this search as we try to reconnect Tux to her owner.
