Join the ride of the century

We’ve partnered with the White House as part of our ongoing effort to increase vaccine access in our communities. Starting May 24, we’re funding free rides (up to $15) each way, to and from vaccination appointments. Get in, America. We’re riding, biking, and scooting to get our shots.

You can help fund rides through our nonprofit partners who proactively serve low-income and vaccine-hesitant groups by connecting them with rides to vaccination sites.

Fund a ride

Help your mom, grandad — or anyone you love — get a ride.

How to send a ride:

  1. Tap the search bar on the home screen of your Lyft app.
  2. Tap the 'Me' button at the top of the next screen, then tap ‘Add rider’ and follow the prompts.
  3. Enter the pickup location and destination, and send them on their way! (You can track their ride from your app.)

The ride recipient must have their own Lyft account and will see the ride details in their Lyft app.

This commitment takes a village of support

Making sure everyone can get to their vaccine appointment wouldn’t be possible without the power of strong partnerships. We’re grateful to Anthem, JPMorgan Chase, and our Lyft Business partners for supporting so many people’s journey to get vaccinated.

By working with organizations like United Way, the NAACP, and the National Hispanic Council on Aging, we can ensure these rides go to the most in-need communities.

If you’re an organization that wants to donate rides, email — you can also find out how to cover rides for your employees or patients here.

Vaccine Access > Each of us for all of us

Each of us for all of us

The safety and well-being of everyone sharing the ride is a priority for us, and you can’t ride if you have COVID-19. As part of our Health Safety Program, throughout every ride: Riders and drivers are required to wear face coverings, leave the front seat empty, and keep windows rolled down whenever possible. Violations of these rules will lead to suspension, which would prevent riders/drivers from using Lyft.

Every day, drivers show up to move our communities forward, and we’re grateful for the essential role they’re playing. That’s why we’re advocating to get them priority access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
