More wheels, more ways.
Improving people’s lives with the world’s best transportation calls for more than just cars — that’s why we’re adding scooters to the Lyft lineup. We believe scooter networks are a last-mile transportation solution wherever you’re headed on the UCLA campus.
Tap the icon to see any available scooters nearby. Use your Lyft app to scan the QR code or to reserve a scooter ahead of time.
How to ride
- Kick-start the ground twice to get going.
- Press the throttle on the right-hand side of the handlebar to speed up.
- Hold down the brake on the left-hand side of the handlebar to slow down.
- One person per scooter — passengers prohibited.
Follow traffic laws
Los Angeles traffic laws apply to cars, bicycles, and, yep: scooters. This means you must stop at red lights and stop signs, ride in the same direction as traffic, leave crosswalks free and clear for pedestrians, and, of course, yield to pedestrians. Always.
Wear a helmet
Always wear a helmet when riding a scooter. Not optional, sorry. (But don’t worry — helmet hair is cool now.)
Parking your scooter
Please be mindful of others when parking your scooter. Park your scooter upright in designated areas only — use bike racks or park by the curb at all times. Don't block sidewalks, pathways, or wheelchair ramps. Do not park adjacent to or within transit zones, loading zones, fire hydrants, curb ramps, entryways, driveways, or parklets.
Reserve before you go
Ensure that your scooter will actually be there when you arrive. Reserve a scooter ahead of time and we’ll hold your scooter for up to 15 minutes. You’ll be charged a per minute rate while the scooter is reserved. Once you unlock the scooter, you’ll also be charged an unlock fee.
See a friend? Latte (with oat milk, please) intermission? Just tap Lock in your Lyft app to lock your scooter (you’ll be charged a per minute rate while the scooter is locked) until you're ready again. We’ll wait.
