Help after the Brooklyn subway shooting

Apr 12, 2022

Update: As of 4/13/22 at 11:00 p.m. ET, we have exhausted our supply for this program. We encourage those who need additional support to contact our long-standing partner United Way by calling your local 2-1-1, where a specialist will be able to work with you to provide access to transportation.

Lyft is committed to doing our part to help those in need. In response to the subway shooting in Brooklyn, New York, we’re activating our LyftUp Disaster Response program across New York City. We’re providing access to discounted rides to make it as easy and affordable to get around while transit is affected.

Rides can be accessed using the code NYCHELP22, valid for two rides up to $15 each. Rides are available from now until 4/15/22 at 11:59 p.m. ET, for 3000 users.

We will continue to monitor the conditions and communicate with Lyft drivers, riders and government officials. As always, we look forward to providing rides to those who need them.

Our hearts go out to those affected by this tragic event.
